Building a Leather Family...

Class Description

So, you've gathered some like-minded people, created a name, maybe established a hierarchy and a few traditions. Congratulations—you have a Leather House! Or a family. Or possibly the beginnings of a small cult. Let's make sure it's one of the first two. In this class, Master Cyborg and Sassy draw from years of experience participating in and leading a Leather House to explore what it takes to build and maintain a healthy Leather family. We'll talk about leadership and accountability, membership, hierarchy, traditions, mentorship, expectations, conflict, changing roles, friendships, and what happens when someone decides it's time to leave. Leather families can create incredible bonds, support, education, service, and a genuine sense of belonging. The goal is to build that kind of community without ever forgetting that the people who belong to it are still individuals.
